Life is a picnic isn’t it? This weekend sure was. An extra day off work? Sunshine, pool and plenty of time with my hubs and family? Remembering all our heroes who protect our freedom everyday? Yes please. And not to mention only four more days until my family beach vacation? Color me happy, anxious and oh so very thankful.
Did you make the most of your long weekend? The Scott household sure did! Or at least it feels like it. What is it about ONE EXTRA day of weekend that makes me feel so refreshed? Maybe it was that we didn’t have any solid plans, maybe it was because we were able to do all the things that make us happy, but simple pleasures galore were realized this weekend.
We started our weekend off on Friday by starting a new show that we knew would quickly turn into our latest obsession, Billions. When my husband showed me the preview earlier in the week, I was already sold. I’ve always been a fan of Paul Giamatti and pin him against a wall street punk who is too quick to be caught, you’ve got me hooked. If you aren’t watching this show yet, you might want to…. you’re welcome and also I’m sorry because you are sure to spend way too much time in the coming days watching this show
Weekends with no plans always afford with me more time than usual at the gym which, because I’m a fitness geek AND freak, gets me so excited. I am still sore from my workout on Sunday where I worked on my form for pull ups, got low with some squat variations, and just generally killed my core with a variety of things that should probably only be used as torture tactics because you know #fitness. I also got to play around with my bosu ball that I recently got and I am having so much fun challenging myself with new exercises that are activating more muscles than I even knew I had in my bods. Anyone else use a bosu ball? What are your favorite moves on it? Working on bringing you some new moves in the fitness area soon, are you ready for it?
We also got some quality time in with the fams this weekend which always makes my heart happy. I conquered “waterfalls” and “hot lava” with my nephews and “read” lots of books with my sweet, sweet niece who at five months has more hair than I had when I was at least three years old. Family time, fitness time, time with my hubs and success with a new and easy recipe that we tried, tasted like sushi, and I am definitely bringing it to the blog soon? Don’t know what more a girl could want.
Shout out to my husband for these snaps that he #bossed on, especially when I was being a helluva cooperative photo subject who was a little hangry 😉 My second shooter (husband) is really earning his keep around here lately…..
How was your long weekend? Do anything particularly great?! Outfit details below!
