Baby Popsicles

Baby Popsicles

Parker is now 7 months old (HOW?!) and could potentially pop a tooth any day now. Or not. It’s confusing.

Nearly once a week she gets extra drooly, clingy and can’t seem to stop chewing on her hands and nearly once a week I’m convinced her gummy smiles are gone forever [long dramatic NOOOOOOOOOOO and serious mom tears], and the teething fairy is finally here.

A couple weeks ago during one of these scares (I’m dramatic get over it), I decided that I was finally going to make some popsicles with the mold I’ve had probably since before she was born (I was excited OKAY KAREN?!). I used greek yogurt even though P hasn’t really been into it when I’ve tried it on a spoon, some raspberries and hoped for the best. The rest is history.

Although there’s still no sign of any teethies (all the gummy smiles), I’ve kept making the popsicles for her because she seems to love them, and with a full fat greek yogurt in them and a tiny little peanut who could stand to gain a few pounds it’s the perfect treat to get a few more healthy calories in her.

Plus it’s freaking adorable to watch her eat it. And she sometimes holds it herself. Oh Parker Elle.

I usually feed it to her in the beginning of her bath to get those few extra calories in at the end of the day and to help with my not freaking out over the mess.

These would be a fun treat for kids too(here’s a mold for bigger popsicles)  and a great way to sneak in some healthy things without them knowing (You Sneaky Mom). Enjoy the recipe (and pictures) below and a few more I’ve dreamt up for popsicles to come!

VANILLA RASPBERRY POPSICLES

I won’t include measurements bc it really depends on your popsicle mold but it’s pretty easy to figure out!

INGREDIENTS

Full fat greek yogurt

Vanilla Extract

Fresh Raspberries (or other fruit!)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix greek yogurt with a few drops of vanilla extract (start small and taste and add more to your liking or servings!)
  2. Mash raspberries with a fork to get a jam like consistency
  3. Add a spoonful of the yogurt mixture to your mold and layer in raspberries and yogurt mixture after until your mold is full
  4. Freeze for a few hours (again depends on the size of the mold)

A FEW OTHER POPSICLES COMBOS TO TRY

  • Avocado + Banana (Blended together with water or almond milk)
  • Greek yogurt (with vanilla extract) + Orange Juice (I’ll wait until P is 1 for this but would be great for when she is sick to get extra Vitamin C in!)
  • Avocado + Spinach + Blueberries (Blended)
  • Greek yogurt + Peanut Butter + Banana + Cacao (Blended)
  • Cacao + Greek Yogurt + Raspberries (Blended)

XO,

JESS
