Usually in a gal’s third trimester she’s in major nesting mode and setting up the nursery basically every day preparing for baby’s arrival. Unless of course you’re me, and you plan your renovations for your third trimester and your nursery is currently full of boxes and furniture which make it nearly impossible to even get into the room.
So instead of a nursery tour of the real thing, today I’m sharing some of my gender neutral nursery inspo, my mood board and the pieces I’m planning, including some cool technology to help both mama and baby.

MY NURSERY PLAN
Being that I’m keeping the nursery pretty neutral in colors, I want to incorporate a lot of different textures to add interest. The Ikea dresser we already had and updated (check my instagram highlights to see the final product) will serve as the perfect storage center and changing station. Baskets will corral stuffed animals, blankets and other things which is crucial and helpful to not make me feel like there is ish everywhere. I just bought an echo dot specifically for the baby’s room and I’m planning on using it for a few things 1) White Noise – perfect for helping baby sleep and 2) Hatch Baby App – Alexa has a skill with this app that allows you to talk to her to capture diaper changes, sleep times, breastfeeding and other things you’d want to track at the beginning.
I wasn’t originally planning to use a diaper pail, but then after some research the world convinced me it was crucial to keep odors at bay, and this Ubbi one was simple enough for my aesthetic, a good price, rated well, and uses regular garbage bags so I don’t have to give in to all the specific gimmicks that can come with other ones. I’m also planning an oil diffuser with some baby safe oils (doing my research here to make sure everything is good for baby) so both mama and baby can use it to relax for feeding or bed times.
Any other Alexa skills I should know about? What’s been giving you inspo lately?
XO,
JESS

A few things. Love the gold accents! Zoe has that lamp (#4) in her nursery and it’s super cute. And on the Echo, we use the Arlo skill for her monitor. We have the Echo Show so we can see and hear but I’d guess with the dot, you could just hear. You probably already have a monitor chosen but if not, we love Arlo!
Oh yay! I got a monitor from my sister but that’s such a good idea! There’s so many more uses for the amazon products than a normal monitor! Smart mama!
